La Huasteca Saposina

Category: Game Development

Description

We developed this game as part of our final project of the classes Videogames Foundations and Perception Psychology. The team was conformed by:

Lead animator
@z02_geek
Main scripting
@rayos.y.rayones although we all contributed at this part
Game design
@jorgos.gtz
Concept Art
@jorgos.gtz and myself, xin_the_mushroom
Programming team
@seaborneaxis and xin_the_mushroom

I was the main supervisor(?) of all teams as had a little more experience on developing games and had a more clear idea of how we should be working. I had to teach @jorgos.gtz how to make tiles for the game and at @rayos.y.rayones ended helping him. My main task was coding Ranaldo’s movement, placing the tiles in Unity and making the tilemap, adding the animations for every element, element and Ranaldo and stablishing the camera using Cinemachine, and making the original storyboard, which is in grayscale, and @maramievart colored it and made some changes based on our Perception Psychology feedback. @seaborneaxis helped me optimizing some codes and adjusting some values. As I mentioned earlier, we developed our game un Unity in the 2018 LTS version, and so for the animations, @z02_geek made them in Adobe After Effects. We decided to merge the final project for both classes because @jorgos.gtz’s Ranaldo drawing won a kind-of contest of something that represents joy, so we decided to make our main theme of our game this emotion. We needed an enemy though, so we decided to make someone that was sad/angry, such as Percy, whose design was made by @seaborneaxis.
